Features 3 original melodic ambient minimalist electronic chilled music tracks (13+ minutes).

The Ice Line Drift project is focused on instrumental melodic ambient minimalist beat free rhythmic electronic music often centred around the re-use of the same musical phrases and lines mimicked over different sounds. My inspirations are early Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream & Mike Oldfield.

What stories are behind Where the old tracks cross? A place where the past, present or parallel planes meet; old friendships rekindled; decisions to be made; an encounter with the dead, the devil or the black dog?

The 3 tracks on this EP use Steinberg Halion VST as their sound source, and a few of the sounds are common to all 3 tracks. Initially I started out with more organic sounds - all the same for all tracks - but I got bored of them, and I went for more obvious synthetic sounds with more character, more chorus, more phaser, more delay fx. These are the effects I tend to go back to time after time in a lot of my music projects. I aim to give Ice Line Drift tracks an ethereal warm feel, and no shocks to the system. These 3 tracks are a bit different to my other Ice Line Drift tracks, in that the bass is so loud and solid. Tracks 2 and 3 took a small phrase from a previous track and built around it.
