What's it about?

I decided I wanted to try out some new ideas with this project. I wanted to a create a 3D world with elements of narrative in it - a narrative that was themed around Bacchus (Roman god of wine). It's not really a story, more an abstract thread built up of quotes, asides and images focused on the god and the effects of alcohol. When it comes to making games I tend to work alone, but I also wanted to collaborate with friends on this project in a fun and easy way.  So, when I went out to the pub a few times over the past month after a couple of drinks I got friends to re-work/deface/re-imagine (ie draw on them with coloured pens :) ) original Bacchus/wine themed images from the British Library Flickr account. Both the original and re-worked images appear in the game. Here are a few shots of the work in progress.

I haven't used all the images - there were a few Neptune and drunk sailor images that I didn't use (in the end they didn't really fit the theme), but I plan to create a smaller themed narrative side-game using those as well. It was fun getting others involved, especially as I didn't know how they would re-work the original images.
